From Tinkerer to Tech Leader: Gage’s Journey at Paladin

From a young age, Gage Graves was captivated by technology. Whether it was dismantling his Game Boy or taking apart the family TV remote, he was always curious about how things worked. That curiosity naturally led him to a career in tech—and ultimately to Paladin.

“Growing up, I really got into building computers and got tech savvy on the hardware side of PCs,” Gage says, explaining what led him to work in technology and customer service. “I feel like this job fits my skill set really well because I like breaking things down and figuring out what’s wrong on the technical side. I like playing with software and breaking things to find out how they work. This job really allows me to do that, as well as use my customer service skills.”

Since joining Paladin about a year ago, Gage has made a big impact. He’s contributed to both the hardware and software teams and even stepped up as interim lead for Squad 2 when his supervisor, Joe Walker, transitioned into project management.

“It’s been really fun. I’ve learned a ton about how Paladin works at a leadership level and how the different departments work together in handling cases. I’m learning every single day here, and it never stops. And that’s a good thing. I’ve learned something new every single day. It doesn’t get boring, that’s for sure,” he says.

A native of Central Oregon, Gage spent part of his youth in California’s San Joaquin Valley but was thrilled to return to Oregon on January 1, 2019—a date he remembers fondly.

Now, as a member of the Project Management team, Gage is helping new clients get up and running with Paladin Point of Sale. His deep knowledge of both the software and the hardware it runs on makes him a valuable asset.

“What I’m excited about is seeing the process from signing a contract to going live with Paladin and learning more about our philosophy and why we do the things we do or why we design the software the way we do,” he says. “I’m very proud of what I’ve done here, and to be recognized for it. I love working here.”
